Necklace Length Length Name General Description
12-16 inches Choker Falls at just above the collarbone
17-20 inches Princess An easy to wear, very popular length, especially for everyday.
20-24 inches Matinee This is a good length if you're going to a slightly less casual event during the day.
24 - 40 inches Opera Think "flapper" necklaces, or of evenings at the opera, with women wearing long evening gloves, and long strands of pearls.
40 to 45 + inches Rope LONG! A rope length necklace will generally go around the neck twice easily. Sometimes there is a clasp, but it generally isn't needed.
48 + inches Lariat There isn't a traditional clasp on a lariat style necklace. Instead, there is generally a loop on on one end, and the other end is fed
