Pearl Re-stringing
Real or faux pearls can become, or already are, a wonderful family heirloom, but they do need some special attention to keep their luster and beauty.
Some experts believe that pearls should be cleaned and re-strung at least once a year, but if worn daily, should be cared for every 3 or 4 months. However, this can rapidly become an expensive proposition, especially if you have several strands of pearls, whether they be a necklace, or bracelet.
If you do wear your pearls every day, or have several strands of pearls, I offer a special re-stringing program. For every 5 pieces of pearl jewelry I restring, the sixth is free! (This applies only to pearls.)
Please see the following price chart for a basic pearl restring. I feel that my prices are reasonable, fair, and within reach of just about everyone! I use a high quality, specialty silk thread to restring pearls, and hand knot each strand (insertion of tiny little knots between each pearl) to prevent the pearls from rubbing each other and wearing out the nacre. It also aids in preventing the loss of pearls, should the thread ever break.
